February Favourites

IMG_1439

Before we kick February to the curb completely, I want to share all of my beauty favourites from the month. When I sat down and started to think about what I really loved this month, I didn’t think I had very many. But the more I thought, the more I realized I found some real treasures. Here’s the breakdown:

Covergirl Full Lash Bloom in Black-Brown. I mentioned that I’ve been using this a lot this month in my “What’s in My Makeup Bag” post earlier this week. I’d forgotten how much I love the soft, natural look that you can only get with a plastic mascara brush. Also, on days where I haven’t been wearing any makeup, but want something on my eyelashes to make me look awake, the black-brown colour is perfect, adding a hint of colour without being over the top.

Revlon Superlustrous Lipstick in Sultry Samba. I’ve talked about this a few times this year (first in my pink lipstick haul, and then again in my Valentine lips post). It’s just that good that I need to keep talking about it. This has been my go to lip all month. It’s bright and doesn’t budge, which makes it perfect for a night out. Also, like any other lipstick, it instantly makes you look put together — even when you’re not. Lifesaver!

Essie Quick-E Drying Drops. I forgot to mention this in my January favourites, but it is still a favourite this month (and will be for the foreseeable future). This year so far I have been changing up my nail colour at least once a week (sometimes more if I get bored). This stuff has been like magic in a bottle. No joke. Just one drop of this after you put on your top coat and within one or two minutes, it is completely dry. Before I discovered this, I would smudge my polish almost every time I applied it if I didn’t wait an hour or more to do anything afterwards. Now when I use this, I can go back to my normal life, all the while having perfectly smooth and pretty polish.

Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette. My love affair with all things Urban Decay eyeshadows continues. I bought this a few months ago, but hadn’t used it much since then. Being February, I wanted to add some pinks to my everyday looks, so I had to pull this out. Like I said in my last post about this, I love the versatility, and that packaging! So pretty.

Nicole by OPI in Am I Making Myself Clair (Modern Family Collection). I bought this in the summer, I think. It’s the perfect barely there greyish lilac. It will also go with pretty much any look, so you don’t have to worry about clashing (which I’m always worried about when it comes to nails).

Fresh Sugar Tulip Tinted Lip Treatment. I love a good tinted lip balm, especially one that smells and feels as divine as this one. It’s actually quite pigmented, so much so that it will definitely look like you are wearing lipstick if you layer it on. But when I just do a quick swipe or dab it on, it gives my lips a hint of healthy colour. Plus, it has SPF 15, but doesn’t taste like it does.

Sephora Ultimate Oil-in-Gel Lipstick Remover. I already wrote an in depth review earlier this month, which you can read here. Suffice it to say, this is my best friend on the nights when I wear long wearing lip colour. No pulling off your lips just to get off that lip colour with this one!

Well, there you have it! Now we move one day closer to spring and I am so happy about that! So long, February!
