March Birchbox Unboxing

IMG_1751For a while now, I have wanted to try out some of the many beauty subscription boxes out there. I did a lot of research and decided that I would try Birchbox. To be honest, I decided to do it this month, because I knew that one of the samples was a beautyblender, so it was more than worth it.
For those of you that are unfamiliar with Birchbox, it is a monthly subscription where you will receive 4 or 5 samples of varied products based on your likes, your hair and skin type, etc. In Canada, Birchbox is $10 a month (plus $4.95 for shipping and handling), or $100 a year (plus shipping & handling).
I finally got my box yesterday, so I thought I would share it!IMG_1755

IMG_1758Here’s what I got this month:

Beauty Protector, Protect & Detangle Spray (full size is $26). This one smells amazing. And I am always in need of a heat protectant because I am far too impatient to go without heat styling.

Beautyblender, beautyblender sponge with solid cleanser ($35). My love for my beautyblender is well known, so I am excited to have another one (mine is due to be replaced anyhow). Also, the cleanser is amazing! I got a sample a month or so ago and the first time I used it, I was amazed with the results.

Cynthia Rowley Beauty, Eyeliner in Black (full size is $18). This is just a bit smaller than the full size, so you do get a fair amount of product. This eyeliner is super creamy and does not budge. I swatched it on my hand and less than a minute later it wouldn’t smudge. It doesn’t come off with just soap and water without some work, but it does come off easily with my cleansing oil.

Harvey Prince, Hello Body Creme (full size is $26). This is just a deluxe sample, so I don’t get a lot of product, and it probably won’t last long. However, this smells so good! It’s lemony and citrusy, but it smells sophisticated. The tube says that it has Sicilian lemon, Spanish mandarin botanicals and shea butter. It’s delightful. I would actually consider buying the full size.

Vasanti Cosmetics, Brighten Up! Enzymatic Face Rejuvenator (full size is $34). Another deluxe sample, but I feel like I will get more use out of this one. I am actually in need of a new exfoliator, so this one came at the perfect time. I haven’t tried it yet, but I promise to report back when I do.

And there you have it! I plan to try it out for at least three months. I really liked it this month, so hopefully the rest are good too! You can try out Birchbox for yourself here (bonus: if you subscribe for the April box, you get a beautyblender too! Score!)
