Favourite Lip Balms

This past weekend, on our Sephora trip, my sister-in-law, handed me a present — my favourite lip balm that I haven’t been able to find for over a year. I was so happy to have it in my life again. It reminded me that there are some great (and not so great) lip balms out there. Being the beauty hoarder that I am, I have so many tubes and tubs of the stuff floating around our house, but there are definitely a few that I favour over the others.FullSizeRender (1)C.O. Bigelow, Lemon Lip Balm. Not only is this my favourite because it is lemon (my favourite scent), but it is so amazing on the lips. There was a time when I had at least one of these in every purse, on my nightstand and in my drawer at work. This, much like the rest I will be sharing today, actually nourishes my lips and makes them feel smoother after using it.

EOS, Smooth Sphere Lip Balm. I discovered this a few years ago when I was working at Chapters. I first tried the Sweet Mint and Summer Fruit, but hated it. The mint was way too strong and did not make my lips feel good at all. It took me a while, but I decided to try another one when we got Strawberry Sorbet. It was then that I realized how amazing this stuff is. If you’ve been disappointed with this in the past, it may be that you’ve tried the wrong flavour. My favourites are Strawberry Sorbet, Pomegranate Raspberry, and Passion Fruit. I love that this brand is all-natural and organic with great ingredients like jojoba oil, shea butter and vitamin E — perfect for those chapped lips.

Kiehl’s, Lip Balm #1. I love these lip balms because they are definitely hydrating, but they also have some sheen to them which is perfect for something extra on a no-makeup day. Also, they spell delightful, especially Mango and Pear.

Fresh, Sugar Lip Treatment SPF 15. This is my favourite luxury lip balm. Just like the name says, it really is a treatment. I love using the untinted after I use a lip scrub and Tulip on days when I want some colour on my lips but don’t have patience for lipstick or gloss. I also love that this comes with an SPF of 15, but doesn’t smell or taste like it does! So many of the lip balms with SPF out there have that awful smell or taste that comes out about 15 minutes after you apply it, but this doesn’t.

What is your favourite lip balm? Do you prefer lip balms with scent, a tint, or a bit of gloss?
