L’Oreal Infallible Eyeshadow

lorealinfallibleeyeshadowWhile I am a big fan of palettes and using a few (or sometime more) colours to put together an eye look, sometimes I want just one and one that will make an impact. This is where the L’Oreal Infallible Eyeshadows come in. These shadows, which are actually more like pressed pigments, come in 27 shades and claim to be waterproof and extremely long-lasting (24 hours kind of long). Currently I only have two shades, but I feel like I have worked with them enough to really get a full idea how good they really are.

lorealinfallibleshadowsbronzedtaupeamberrushswatchesBronzed Taupe is exactly what the name would suggest — a bronzed taupe (I love it when a company makes it easy). This is definitely one of my favourite shades at the moment. It’s the right amount of dark so that it doesn’t wash me out, is definitely noticeable, but still soft enough for an easy daytime look. I have the best way to wear this is by applying a light brown shade in my crease with a fluffy brush, then apply bronzed taupe all over my lid with my finger, then blend it out with different fluffy eyeshadow brush. Add some mascara, and I’m done. Sometimes I will also add a little bit to my lower lash line too.

lorealinfallibleshadowamberrushAmber Rush is a gorgeous chopper-y rose gold shade. On me it looks more chopper though. It’s seriously intense, but seriously gorgeous. It’s not a shade I can wear every day, but it’s definitely one I like to go for when I want something different from typical browns and taupes. I like to wear this one just by itself, though a vanilla or peachy shade would work well as a transition colour. Just like Bronzed Taupe, I like to apply it with my finger, as it gives a nice finish and keeps the fall out at a minimum.

Both of these shades are definitely long-lasting, but I use a primer since my lids are prone to becoming oily. I love the slightly-wet-metallic look without creasing. There are probably only one or two other shades I would get though (likely Endless Chocolat, or Endless Pearl) since I’m not one for bright and bold colours on my lids (I save that for my lips). I do like though that there is quite a range in the collection, and feel that most people would be able to find something that suits them.

Have you tried the Infallible Eyeshadows? What do you think?
