How to Transition Your Beauty Routine | Summer to Fall

transitiontofallbeauty2Yesterday, I shared five items that will help transition your wardrobe into fall. Today, I am sharing five more items that you can add to your beauty stash as we  make the switch from summer to fall.

transitiontofallbeautyWhen I think about the changing seasons, after what’s in my closet, I think about my nail polish colours. I love deep colours in the fall, but I don’t always want to jump into the deep reds and berries just yet. I have currently been loving Essie’s Take it Outside, which is a soft, neutral grey. For a great red, I’m also currently wearing Really Red (also from Essie, of course), which is a great true red between other favourites like Fifth Avenue and Forever Yummy.

While I am happy to wear a BB cream or tinted moisturizer year-round, with school just around the corner, I’ll be looking for a little more coverage on a day-to-day basis. CoverGirl’s Ready Set Gorgeous Foundation is the perfect choice, as it is a medium coverage that gives a natural finish and is long-lasting as well. For lips, turning away from peachy pinks, I like to go for deeper fuchsias (like this one) and light berries to start before getting into deep berries and reds. Revlon’s Colorburst Balm Stain in Smitten is a great choice because it is slightly sheer, but has a beautiful bright berry tone to it.

For scents, I’ve been a huge fan of the ever-so-sweet Prada Candy this summer. I definitely think I’ll continue to wear it on a day-to-day basis, as we go through the rest of the year, but some days I want something a bit deeper and stronger. Nirvana Black from Elizabeth and James is my favourite fall scent with its warm notes of vanilla and violet. And lastly, when it comes to my beauty routine as we come into September, I need more moisture for my dry skin. Though I am likely to use a body butter year-round, I find that my skin definitely needs it more as the air gets drier. Of course I will always go for the Coconut Body Butter from The Body Shop, but anything that they sell is well worth it.

Just like the few items I would add to change-up my style in the next few weeks, these five items can do a lot to get you ready to dive into fall when it officially rolls out next month. I have to say, the more posts I am writing about the end of the summer and the beginning of fall, the more excited I am. I am definitely a fall girl, and can’t wait for cozy knits and berry toned lips and nails to be the regular.
