Judging a Book By Its Cover

I’m not ashamed to say that I definitely buy books based on their cover. There have been a few times where I didn’t want to buy a book, even though I loved it, because I didn’t like the cover. And more times than not I have bought a book I knew nothing about just because the cover art was pretty and interesting. I’m very much influenced by aesthetics, and like my books to look pretty on my shelves, so I think in this case it’s not such a bad thing to judge a book by its cover. I’ve also been guilty of purchasing multiple copies of the same book, just because they are just too pretty to leave in the store. Some collect stamps, I collect books (and nail polish… and lipstick). I find I am most drawn to beautiful inspirations, bright colours, and whimsical designs. I’ve gathered a few of my favourites here, and made sure to keep it to a small number so as not to overwhelm you. My favourites to collect are definitely the Hardcover Penguin Classics (I have at least 2/3 of the collection so far), and the Puffin in Bloom collection (of which I only have one, so I must rectify that soon).
