November Playlist

novemberplaylist2015-2To be honest, I haven’t listened to music this month as much as I normally do. Part of that has to do with the fact that I’ve lost my earphones for the better part of the month and had to go at least two weeks without them (basically torture on the bus ride to school), and I have been listening to comedy albums more often lately. However, I still have a handful of songs that I’ve really enjoyed recently from the new EP from Foo Fighters to Explosions in the Sky (thanks to recent binge watching of Friday Night Lights). While I’ve really enjoyed the new music out right now (like Jana Kramer’s new album), I’ve found myself going back to old favourites like The Shins, Brand New and The Gaslight Anthem. But, my favourite track right now by far is Straight No Chaser’s cover of “Make You Feel My Love”. This is one of my all-time favourite songs (I think I like Adele’s cover best, though Bob Dylan’s original is still beautiful), and it makes me cry nearly every time I hear it. I’m reminded each time I hear SNC’s cover of the time Christopher and I saw them in concert last spring right after we moved into our current place. It was there encore song, and it was so beautiful. It also reminds me of the night that I realized I was in love with Christopher in the summer of 2012. Isn’t it amazing what music does to us?
