November Favourites

novemberfavouritesHappy December! I had every intention of having this post up yesterday, but winter has gotten the best of me lately and I decided instead to spend the weekend relaxing and reading and taking care of home duties. Now that December is here, I am ready to devote my time and effort to this blog (minus the time needed for final projects and exams), and share some great content with you! Today, it’s all about my November beauty favourites.

Milani, Color Statement Lipliner in Fuchsia. I mentioned this last week in my berry lips post, and while I do love the lipstick and lip gloss that I combine it with for my perfect dark berry lip, it wouldn’t be possible without this gorgeous lip pencil. It’s creamy, long-lasting, and not drying on my lips.

Moroccan Oil, Hair Treatment. I bought this at the end of October, after I had my hair trimmed. After not having my hair cut for over a year, I have decided that I need to take even better care of it if I want to continue letting it grow out. So many people rave about this hair oil, and after trying it out for the last month and a bit, I completely understand it. It makes my hair smoother, shinier even more manageable, and works great with my hair damp or dry. Plus, it smells amazing.

Hourglass, Ambient Lighting Palette. Another product that I am now seeing why everyone loves it so much. I love using the shade “Dim Light” for an overall face powder on days when I don’t want to matte anything down and “Incandescent Light” or “Radiant Light” (or a mix of the two) for a soft highlight. I’m not one for a frosty highlight, so these beautiful, finely milled powders are perfect for me.

Essie, Carry On. I love dark nails at this time of year, and this shade is the perfect one. It’s a dark purple, but not too dark that it always looks black (though it can in certain lighting, I suppose). One of the things that I love about it most though, is that it doesn’t make my pale hands look ruddy, which a lot of dark nail polish tends to do. Also, it comes off cleaner (with no residue of colour on the skin around my nails) than any deep polish I have ever used.

Eco Tools, Smoothing Detangler Paddle Brush. I received this brush in a PR package months ago, but I keep forgetting to talk about it! I love using this paddle brush every time I dry my hair, because it really does make my hair dry faster (thanks to the venting in the brush). It also saved my life when I was doing my sister’s hair the other day (since her hair is at least twice as thick as mine).

NYX, Mega Shine Lip Gloss in Salsa. Most days (unless I’m going to church, or am feeling adventurous), I haven’t cared about wearing lipstick, but I still want something on my lips and this neutral pink shade has been perfect. It has the slightest bit of shimmer in it, so it keeps my lips looking plump and interesting, but it never feels gritty. I’m so glad I rediscovered this in my stash this last month.

Maybelline, Dream Liquid Mousse Foundation. I bought this foundation by accident this month (I was looking for another one, and thought this one was it), but decided to try it out anyway and I love it. This gives a pretty good medium coverage, so it’s perfect for days when I want more coverage than my usual tinted moisturizer. It lasts pretty well throughout the day (though I do need a powder or blotting paper a few hours in, but that’s normal for me), and looks like skin.

Have you tried any of these? What beauty products did you love in November?
