Little Black Dress | Style Inspiration

I am still on the hunt for the perfect dress for Christopher’s Christmas party next weekend. I can be a bit obsessive about things like this. I think a lot about what I want to wear based on the venue, what makeup I want to do, what options I’ll have for shoes, comfort, what the other wives will probably wear… I probably put too much effort into it, but I love curating the perfect outfit for any occasion, so it’s just the way I’m wired. While I would love to wear an over-the-top sequin covered dress, I haven’t been able to find one that I really love, so I am likely going to go with sequin or glitter accents. I think that a black dress would be perfect for the party as it can be worn many times afterwards, will go with any makeup look, shoes and bag. All of my free-time online lately has been devoted to finding this perfect little black dress (because I really don’t own one that I love), and I thought I’d share the results with you today.littleblackdressstyleinspiration

I love the simplicity and versatility of a black dress. I love a bit of lace whether it’s all lace, just the top or this one with long sleeves. If you want something extra cute that doesn’t really need any accessories, this dress with a jewelled peter pan collar is perfect. Add some heels for a party, or flats for work — it’s great either way. For something really classic and simple, I love this long-sleeved pencil dress (or this short-sleeved one, or even this maxi dress). And finally for something equally classic and modern, this peplum dress (or this one with a ruffled peplum) is great. With the right shoes and the right accessories, any of these dresses would be ideal for a party, date night, work or even church.

Do you have a go-to party dress? Which of these would you chose?
