25 Random Facts About Me

If you’ve been a dedicated reader of Be Loverly for the last year (hi Mom! Hi Chantelle!) then you probably know quite a bit about me. Even if you’re new or an occasional reader, then you probably still know a few things. You know that I love makeup and beauty products in general, that I love to read and I love Audrey Hepburn movies (and just Audrey Hepburn in general). It can be hard for me to share more about myself when I primarily talk about beauty, books and music. So in order to remedy that, and help you get to know me better, I am sharing 25 facts about me. Some are probably obvious, and some might surprise you (or at least be something you didn’t know before). Keep reading to find out more!beloverly-25thingsaboutme

  1. I am named after my great-grandfather on my mom’s side. He was Scottish, and his middle name was Christie. He never liked it, because he considered it a girl’s name and my parents agreed, so they chose it for my first name. I am also named after my aunt Beth (my mom’s sister).
  2. My dream job (besides blogging) would be a music supervisor for a TV show or movie. They are the ones that are in charge of the soundtrack.

  3. I recently (a month ago) finished my degree, so I have a Bachelor of Arts in English (but I think they should rename it to be a BA in English Literature, because that is more accurate).

  4. I minored in Psychology, and in high school I wanted to work for the Canadian Mental Health Association to raise awareness and reduce the stigma associated with mental illnesses. I would still like to do something with that, but I’m not sure what yet.

  5. I have two nieces and two nephews. I bugged my sister about having babies from the time I was ten because I have always wanted to be an aunt. And being an aunt is the best thing ever.

  6. I am the youngest of three. I have a brother, David who is six years older than me, and a sister, Marni who is three years older.

  7. My siblings are among my best friends. And so are their spouses. And Christopher, of course. Like Mindy Lahiri says, “a best friend isn’t a person, it’s a tier.”

  8. I used to hate country music a lot. Like so much that I would beg my sister to listen to anything else (when we lived at home, she would drive me places a lot and would listen to country music). But now, I listen to it about 1/2 of the time.

  9. When I was younger (11 or 12), I wanted to be a cosmetologist.

  10. I have always wanted to be a writer, and want to publish a book one day.

  11. I have watched every episode of Gilmore Girls at least 3 times (some a lot more than that).

  12. My favourite colours are pink, navy and grey. These colours were also the palette for our wedding.

  13. I am a very squeamish person. So much so that I feel physically ill when I am in a hospital (I’ve come close to passing out a few times), I faint when I get needles and one time when I was 12, my blood pressure dropped so low that I blacked out. Thankfully I am much more aware of my body now and know the signs, so I haven’t fainted in 10+ years.

  14. I am LDS (aka Mormon).

  15. My husband, Christopher and I are exactly six months apart. He is older.

  16. My favourite band of all time is The Beatles.

  17. I love a capella music, and wish I had perfect pitch.

  18. I love to sing and have been in school and church choirs for the majority of my life.

  19. I used to play bass guitar. I also played String Bass in my high school Concert Band.

  20. My favourite movie is Funny Face.

  21. A close second is Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. I actually have a tradition of watching it every year on my birthday (ever since I turned 15).

  22. I often quote Gilmore Girls or The Office randomly in conversation. If I’m around my brother (if it’s from The Office) or sisters, they will get it, but I usually have to explain it to Christopher.

  23.  I love TV shows about lawyers, like The Good Wife and Suits. This is probably because I grew up watching shows like Law & Order, Perry Mason and Matlock with my mom.

  24. I don’t like watching suspenseful movies, especially in the theatre. It always gives me anxiety, which I’ve learned a lot of people don’t understand. Before we watched Star Wars (which I know, isn’t a suspenseful movie), I asked Christopher if he was nervous (because I was), and he was so confused by that, because I might be the only person that actually gets nervous watching movies.

  25. I will choose a comedy over any other movie every time. I just really like to laugh.
