Essie Virgin Snow | Mani Monday

When Essie released their Winter 2015 collection a few months ago, I thought I only wanted to add Altitude Attitude to my collection. I needed a pinky-red (well I didn’t have one yet, so maybe want is a better word), but didn’t think I would add any others. And then this month, as I was going through my collection of neutrals and pastels, I was reminded of the colour Virgin Snow, which had a lot of good reviews, but didn’t really catch my eye when it was released.

Described as an “icy frozen lavender”, Virgin Snow is the perfect winter shade. As I mentioned before, I didn’t buy it earlier because it’s certainly not a holiday shade, but it is perfect for January. It’s basically a neutral, but has enough colour to it that is different from my go-to January shades, but not too bright if you prefer to reserve that for the spring. The colour sits somewhere between Essie’s Lilacism and Saltwater Happy and can appear lavender or light blue, depending on the lighting. The formula is great and goes on opaque with two coats and lasts almost a week without any chipping (pretty standard for Essie polishes). I’ve already worn this shade twice this month, and don’t see it being forgotten any time soon. If you’re looking for the perfect winter shade, this is the polish for you!

Have you tried this shade? What is your favourite winter polish?
