Formula X #ColorCurators: Cupcakes and Cashmere Edition | Mani Monday

formulaxcupcakesandcashmereThis year, Formula X is collaborating with fashion, beauty and lifestyle influencers to bring a new collection each month. So far this year, they have created collections with Aimee Song, Patrick Starr and most recently, Emily Schuman. Though the collections from January and February would have been right at home in my collection, I was most excited with Emily’s shades. Emily Schuman, creator of the popular lifestyle blog, Cupcakes and Cashmere, has such great style. She’s feminine, classic, but she has her own edge.

This collaboration includes three shades, Latte Run, Peach Tea and Haute Sauce. As Emily says, these are the shades that every girl should have in her collection and will flatter all skin tones. The truth is, I do have very similar shades in my collection, but these were ever so slightly different that I could justify it.

formulaxlatterunLatte Run is your every day nude shade. It’s beige-y, but has a little hint of peachy-pink that is only visible in certain lights, making it very flattering on my pale skin. It is extremely close to Essie’s Topless & Barefoot, so much so that I actually can’t tell the difference between the colours. The formula is thicker, and applies really smooth, so much so that you could easily get away with one quick coat (though I do prefer two thinner ones).

formulaxpeachteaPeach Tea is a lovely peach, perfect for spring. It’s not chalky, or streaky (though it does need at least two good coats) and is great for adding a bit of punch to your look. In some lights, it does look a little orange, which isn’t my favourite, but when you can see the pink in it, it’s so much better. I think this will be a staple when it comes to spring and summer pedicures this year.

formulaxhautesauceLastly, there is Haute Sauce. A punchy red with a hint of orange, this is my favourite kind of red when it comes to this time of year. If you’re a fan of Essie’s Fifth Avenue, then you will recognize this shade, though it is slightly darker. The formula is lovely, and though it is on the thinner side of things, it doesn’t take much to build it up.

Have you tried any of these shades? What #ColorCurator collection are you most excited about this year?
