Reading List | Summer 2016

With summer just around the corner (11 more days!), I am already thinking of all the books I want to read. Even though I’ve been done school for a while now, there’s something about summer to spark the reading bug in me. So for now, I’m going to forget that I haven’t finished my reading list from last fall and make another list. Because, let’s be honest, if I could make a career of making lists, I would, and I will always be thinking about the new books I want to read, even when I’m still 20 behind on my last list.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child // One True Loves // Gone With the Wind // First Comes Love // In the Unlikely Event // Every Anxious Wave

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child by J.K. Rowling, John Tiffany and Jack Thorne. There’s no way this Potterhead is getting through the summer without reading the highly anticipated new story from J.K. Rowling. I’m really interested to see how this story works as a play, rather than a novel.

One True Loves by Taylor Jenkins Reid. I loved the last book I read by Taylor Jenkins Reid, and I’m looking forward to reading her newest release (though I should probably read her first two novels first). She has such an easy way of writing that I instantly feel a connection to the characters, and hope it’s the case with this one as well.

Gone with the Wind by Margaret Mitchell. It’s probably time to start working through my long list of books I’ve had for years but never read, and I’m going to be ambitious with my first pick. I also have a feeling I’ll love it.

First Comes Love by Emily Giffin. I love pretty much everything that Emily Giffin writes (though I wasn’t crazy about her last novel). Her characters have a lot of depth, but they are so relatable.

In the Unlikely Event by Judy Blume. It’s Judy Blume. Enough said, right? Also, it’s been like 15 years since I last read something by her, this came out at the perfect time.

Every Anxious Wave by Mo Daviau. Music, time travel, love and great cover art. I have a feeling I’ll like this one.
