One Coat Wonder | Mani Monday

I’ve painted my nails at least once a week for quite a few years now. I had come to the conclusion that I would always be a two coat girl, no matter the claim. Although I’m quite an impatient person, I’m actually quite patient when it comes to doing my nails, so putting on two or three coats to make sure I get that perfectly opaque look (without the bulk of a thick coat) is no issue for me. So imagine my surprise a month or two ago when I found a nail polish that actually gave me exactly what I wanted in one coat.

lorealvernisalhuileThis summer, L’Oreal launched their newest line of nail polishes, the Color Riche Le Vernis à L’Huile, which is a polish enriched with oil, and meant to give intense shine and colour. With a wide and thick brush, this polish goes on smooth and thick, but not in a bad way. After only one coat, the finish was even, shiny and didn’t need any touch ups. You could say I was impressed — okay, super impressed. Pictured, I’m wearing Fuchsia Palace. I have also tried Dimanche Après-Midi, which is a lovely sheer pink (like a more intense Ballet Slippers).

The colour range is great, with over 20 shades ranging from soft pinks to deep reds and plums. I have a feeling these will be competing with the Essie Gel Couture line come Fall.

Have you tried these? What is your go-to one-coat polish?
